GOP County Treasurer Candidate Tells Dem Party Chairman "I'm Coming! Both Barrels! Guns Loaded!"

An Ohio man seeking the nomination for Stark County Treasurer has a complete meltdown during a campaign speech. Phil Davison is currently a councilman in the village of Minerva, Ohio, population 3,934.

He began his speech by introducing himself and telling the audience that he has four degrees from the University of Akron — two bachelors, in history and sociology, and two masters, in communication and public administration. Davidson has worked in factories, at the local Target Store and, for eight years, as a bailiff at the Stark County Court of Common Pleas. For reasons not yet known, he left that position as a court bailiff last year, and has been unable to find work since.

While you can detect an agitated tone right from the start, Davidson soon began shouting "I WILL NOT APOLOGIZE FOR MY TONE TONIGHT. I HAVE BEEN A REPUBLICAN IN TIMES GOOD! AND I HAVE BEEN A REPUBLICAN IN TIMES BAD!"

As Davidson's shouting continued, there was complete silence except for a few moments of laughter.

In a common "Second Amendment" theme adopted by Republican candidates, Davidson shouted "IF NOMINATED TONIGHT, I WIN! - TELL YOUR FRIENDS! - TELL YOUR NEIGHBORS! - TELL RANDY GONZALES I'M COMING! - BOTH BARRELS, GUNS LOADED!"

He makes a $260-a-week stipend as a Minerva councilman, which adds up to roughly $12,480 a year. “I certainly can’t live on that, but that’s all I’m doing right now.”

Not to be a "Gloomy Gus" but, loosing your job in 2009 is unfortunate, leaving a job in 2009 without another job lined up requires a level of stupidity not compatable for a "treasurer" of anything. I'm just saying.

LAS VEGAS -- A financial crisis commission tasked with compiling a report to present to President Barack Obama in December stopped in Las Vegas Wednesday to learn more about the financial crisis in the valley.

While the hearing was open to the public, only one man -- in a city where foreclosures and unemployment have skyrocketed -- spoke up about what he lost in what many have dubbed the Great Recession.

He told them when his Fannie Mae stock plummeted, he lost a "tremendous" amount of money.

Obama Admonishes FL Pastor To Call Off Quran Burning

From Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama sternly admonished a Florida pastor Thursday and appealed to him to call off plans to torch the Quran, saying Saturday's planned protest on the anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks was a dangerous "stunt" that could imperil U.S. troops abroad and incite suicide bombers on American soil.

American Muslim leaders urged members to remain calm if the pastor doesn't back down from a threat that already has inflamed passions around the globe. Interpol, the international police organization, issued an alert to its 188 member-countries warning of a "strong likelihood" of violent attacks if the burn goes forward.

FBI agents met with the Rev. Terry Jones at his Dove Outreach Center, an independent church in Gainesville with about 50 members. At issue are his plans to stage an "International Burn-a-Koran Day" on the ninth anniversary of the terror attacks.
Jones planned a public response to the president's request and the FBI visit later Thursday, said church spokesman Wayne Sapp.

Obama, speaking both to an audience of millions and to Jones in particular, said on ABC's "Good Morning America" that: "I hope he listens to those better angels and understands that this is a destructive act that he's engaging in."

NC Sheriff Wants List Of Citizens Perscribed Pain Killers

Posted: Wednesday, September 8, 2010 | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , 0 COMMENTS

Sheriffs in North Carolina want access to state computer records identifying anyone with prescriptions for powerful painkillers and other controlled substances.

The state sheriff's association pushed the idea Tuesday, saying the move would help them make drug arrests and curb a growing problem of prescription drug abuse. But patient advocates say opening up people's medicine cabinets to law enforcement would deal a devastating blow to privacy rights.

Allowing sheriffs' offices and other law enforcement officials to use the state's computerized list would vastly widen the circle of people with access to information on prescriptions written for millions of people. As it stands now, doctors and pharmacists are the main users.

Sheriffs made their pitch Tuesday to a legislative health care committee looking for ways to confront prescription drug abuse. Local sheriffs said that more people in their counties die of accidental overdoses than from homicides.

"We can better go after those who are abusing the system," said Lee County Sheriff Tracy L. Carter.
