"Non-Racist Tea Party Rally Expects 3,000 - Less than 300 show up.

The Uni-Tea Party is a "non-racist" faction of the Tea Party that was established to prove that the Tea Party can hold a rally without all of the gun toting, racist sign holding trouble makers.

This heavily-promoted event was organized by Jerry Weingarten at the Independance Mall in Philadelphia. More then 3,000 Tea Party Activist were expected to show up in this common display of unity and diversity, but less than 300 people showed up.

If anything, this poor turnout my be a good indication of what the real demographic of the Tea Party is once you extract the racist element from the equasion.

Wagging The Dog With Ensign and Rangle?

Posted: Friday, July 30, 2010 | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , 0 COMMENTS

Senate employees are normally prohibited from testifying outside of Congress. So why has the Senate this week approved a resolution allowing Ensign staffers to speak to the grand jury?
.
A more important question, I suppose, is how this story has attracted so little attention compared to the questionable ethics troubles of Democratic Sen. Charles Rangle?

From my perspective, Sen. Ensign has found himself between a rock and a hard place. If not for Sen. Rangle or any wounded democrat consuming so much of the daily news cycle, republicans would be screaming over the "resolution" and circling the wagons around Ensign whom, by the way, is in far more dire straits than his democratic colleague.

To the displeasure of contributors is the fact that Ensign's campaign is paying for legal bills incurred by several staffers speaking to the Senate ethics committee. Ensign has already admitted to having an affair with former campaign staffer, Cynthia Hampton, who is the wife of former Ensign Senate staffer Doug Hampton.
.
Soon after both Hampton's were forced out of the inner circle, Ensign's parents ambiguously presented the ousted couple with a check for $96,000. In addition to the 96K, Doug Hampton was awarded a lobbying job with Ensign's help prior to the one-year ban prohibiting such transitions from the public to private sectors. Here lies the Crux of what the DOJ and the ethics panel are investigating and whether Ensign broke Senate lobbying laws.

Tonight on The Rachel Maddow Show, guest host Chris Hayes reported that Ensign staffers have already testified that conversation about the ban took place within Ensign's office prior to Hampton assuming the lobbying post.
If republicans were hoping to ride the Charlie Rangle scandal into the mid-term elections, they may want to start formulating a PLAN B as soon as possible. This Ensign debacle seems as if it's being choreographed to unfold in unison with the Rangle situation.

I'm not trying to assert that any wagging of the dog is taking place on either side of the aisle. I'm just considering something that my grandfather frequently said about something that walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.....You know the rest.

India Institute of Science Introduces $35 Touch Screen Laptop

Posted: Monday, July 26, 2010 | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: 0 COMMENTS

India's ministry for Human Resource Development on Friday unveiled a touchscreen computing device developed by Banglor Indian Institue of Science. The device will cost about US$35, making it the world's cheapest laptop.

The unnamed product is only at the prototype stage of development at the moment, but is intended to be made available to 110 million Indian schoolchildren before anyone else. The tablet has no hard drive but does have a USB port, 2GB of memory, word processing, web browsing and video-conferencing functions.

"The price of the device exhibited today is expected to be around US$35 per piece, gradually dropping down to US$20 and ultimately to US$10 a piece," reads the government's official press release.

Compared to Apples iPad at $500 to $700, this alternative sounds very impressive for thrifty
consumers.

Glenn Beck Criticizes NAACP Over "Benefit of Doubt"

Glenn Beck criticizes the NAACP for not giving Shirley Sherrod the benefit of the doubt. He seems to be amazed that they didn't reach out to Sherrod first or even look at the full version of the video before criticizing her.

Bill O'Reilly Gets Schooled By Rachel Maddow

Posted: Saturday, July 24, 2010 | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , 1 COMMENTS

Since her arrival at MSNBC, Rachel Maddow has managed to avoid the on-air bickering that some of her colleagues frequently engage in with Fox News. But on Wednesday night, Bill O'Reilly went all "Shannon Daugherty" on Maddow in responce to her comments about Fox News and how their political agenda leads to false reporting such as in the case of ACORN and the recent Shirley Sherrod debacle.

However instead of responding directly to Maddow's comments and why he disagrees with them, Bill O'Reilly did what he always does. He metaphorically unzipped his pants and whipped out his big, fat, unbelievably huge ratings. As if his higher ratings invalidates Maddows comments.

O'REILLY: Fox News "kicks your network's butt every single night, madam" — and — "You have to be kidding with this fake ACORN scandal stuff. Unbelievable. Do you live in this country?"

I'm not sure what O'Reilly thought would come of his on-air message to Rachel Maddow, but the next night she humorously schooled Bill O'Reilly by pointing out how he fell back on ratings to avoid the substance of her argument, which is that stories like the Shirley Sherrod scandal are exactly what Fox News is all about. But since ratings are so important to Bill O'Reilly, Maddow let the air out of O'Reilly's overinflated ratings ego. She pointed out how shows like Sponge Bob, The Deadliest Catch, and Hannah Montana beat both her show and O'Reilly's show.

MADDOW: "You can insult us all you want about television ratings, Mr. O'Reilly, and you'll be right that yours are bigger for now and maybe forever. You are the undisputed champion. But even if no one watches us at all, except for my mom and my girlfriend and people who forgot to turn off the TV after Keith, you are still wrong on what really matters and that would be the
facts, your highness."

Digital DNA Connects Oakland Shooter To Fox News

Posted: | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , , 7 COMMENTS

In a pervious story posted here at ChicoBrisbane.Com, we pointed out how the actions and ideologies of some right-wing extremist are becomming easy to trace right back to Glenn Beck and his own extreme political rhetoric. Now in the matter of "The Oakland Shooter" case, a simple data search is connecting the dots between the shooter Byron Williams, Glenn Beck, and The Tides Foundation.

After an 8 minute gun battle between Williams and California Highway Patrol Offices, a CHP sergeant said:

"There is no doubt in our mind, given the body armor and the extensive amount of ammunition he had, that he was on his way to do a very serious crime against either someone or a group of people"

And sure enough, during an interrogation with investigators, Williams admitted that he was in fact on his way to start a revolution by traveling to San Francisco and killing people of importance at the Tides Foundation. Now Mr.Williams either opened up the phone book and selected the Tides Foundation as a target knowing nothing about them, or his introduction and hatred for the Tides Foundation developed from some other source.

This is where data mining sources like Google and Lexus-Nexus can provide you with the digital DNA to conclusively connect the dots. Task #1 - Drill down the data for keyword "Tides Foundation" to see where it shows up other then the God Damn phonebook.

Searching - Searching - Searching - Searching - Searching - DING!

Okay, so searching back to January 19, 2009, the Tides Foundation was mentioned on Fox News 31 times. Twice on Sean Hannity's Show and 29 times on Glenn Beck's Show. During that same time frame, the Tides Foundation was mentioned on ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, NBC and PBS a grand total of 0 times. Yes that is a zero and not a capital O.

Thankfully the CHP Officers shot his ass before he could carryout Glenn Becks subliminal messaging . This is exactly how Bill O'Reilly's constant ranting about Dr. George Tiller finally lead to some whacky Fox News viewer, picking up a gun, and going to Dr. Tillers church and shooting him dead right there in front of God and everyone. Literally! -

What Did Fox News Know, And When Did They Know It?

Posted: Friday, July 23, 2010 | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , , 0 COMMENTS

What did Fox News know about the video clip sourced from Andrew Breitbart's BigGovernment.Com and when did they know it? - As unfair and unbalanced as Fox News repeatedly proves themselves to be, this recent debacle with the Shirley Sherrod story is a huge departure from spinning the narrative of a news story to disseminating political propaganda with the intent to disrupt the business of the Federal Government.

Setting aside what Fox News did or didn't know about the video clip, they did know that Andrew Breitbart has repeatedly demonstrated that he has no concern for the truth, and a well documented history of posting misleadingly edited videos.

Editing a video to shift it's context 180 degrees from the unedited version is only step one of the process, but that was apparently sufficient for the guilty person(s) that did this sloppy cut and paste job. But any legitimate news outlet or even a person with access to Google who watched the edited clip that Breitbart posted could have easily detected that his interpretation of it's context was false.

In the edited clip, Sherrod mentioned that Chapter 12 bankruptcy for family farms had just been enacted. One simple Google search would've revealed that the events Sherrod was recounting took place around 1986, nearly a quarter of a century before she even came to work for the USDA. So there is just two seconds of research that all legitimate news outlets do as a standard part of the process for reporting the news to their viewers.

Fox News obviously did not do this. If there is any real news to this story, it's that President Obama's well publicised view of Fox News as something other than a legitimate source for news and information is not just a controversial perception anymore. It's a documented fact thanks to Andrew Breitbart and Fox News themselves. Alas! - The Fox Cable Variety Show has a new banner.

Glenn Becks Creepy Comments About Going Blind

Posted: | Posted by Joel Krause | Labels: , , 0 COMMENTS

In the video clip below, Glenn Beck tells his audience about being diagnosed with macular dystrophy and how he my go blind within a year. The excerpt is a roller coaster ride between laughter and tears as Beck shares this potential tragedy with the audience, but there is something real creepy about the manner in which Beck goes from sobbing and being hardly able to speak, to delivering a comical punchline without any signs of sobbing in the same breath.

What is also creepy, but not all too surprising is Becks inability to rationalize this situation in a way that common logic would dictate. In a long drawn out moment of sobbing while attempted to regain his composure, Beck said (about his potential blindness) while still sobbing

"I know what my wife looks like, I know what my children look like, I have a great imagination, I know what color looks like, ( long pause of sobbing) but I love to read. (long pause) And I thought to myself in that time" Beck said emotionally, but then instantly turned off the sniffiling and finished with a comical punchline: "I'm too darn lazy to learn braille." He said.

I was still stuck on the part where Glenn had basically admitted that not being able to read books would be a greater loss to him than not seeing his wife or watching his children grow up. As if those things would be easier to come to terms with. At least I think that's what he was saying weather he meant it to come out that way or not. It just seems that Glenn Beck lacks the ability to see things in the way that most people would.

Actually, the whole scenario seems odd how Rush Limbaugh has already lost his hearing and now Glenn Beck my go blind. Maybe it's a sign from God! - But I'll tell you what...If Sean Hannity should suddenly lose his ability to speak, I would be convinced that divine intervention was at hand. These three hateful people punished by God and turned into a set of those three little monkeys that can see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil.

Glenn Beck's Race Baiting Easily Detectable Among The Fringe

Posted: | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , , 0 COMMENTS

Whenever you hear a political activist speculating about the intent of our founding fathers to rationalize their skewed political perceptions, it's a safe bet that Glenn Beck has played a roll in their doomsday view of common political transition. Most of the time it's laughable, but when you feed this type of political propaganda to someone that already posesses violent, racist tendancies, it's a recipe for disaster.

I came across an article from the Associated Press about a reputed neo-Nazi who's now leading a heavily armed militia of "minute-men" in the Arizona desert. Jason "J.T." Ready is taking matters into his own hands, declaring war on "narco-terrorists" and keeping an eye out for illegal immigrants. So far, he says his patrols have only found a few border crossers who were given water and handed over to the Border Patrol. But local law enforcement are nervous given that Ready's group is heavily armed and identifies with the National Socialist Movement, an organization that believes only non-Jewish, white heterosexuals should be American citizens and that everyone who isn't white should leave the country "peacefully or by force."

Glenn Beck University T-Shirts Made In Bangladesh Sweatshop

Posted: Thursday, July 22, 2010 | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , , 3 COMMENTS

Mr. Uber American Patriot Glenn Beck cries over his country and what he fears is becoming of it by day. However, by night his Beck University T-Shirts are being manufactured for pennies on the dollar in one of thousands of Bangladesh sweatshops. Beck has said many times recently that America is no longer a capitalist country, but how does he reconcile his non-capitalist rhetoric when his fetching $36.00 at GlennBeck.Com for one of his sweatshop, slave labor t-shirts?

The t-shirt itself sells for $20, but by the time that Beck is done racking you over the coals for shipping & handling fees, that t-shirt cost $36.00 - I wonder how much the person that actually sewed the t-shirt in Bangladesh was paid? - With the average wage being .10 to .15 cents per hour, it must have been only a fraction of that. I'm a t-shirt collector and as I look through my collection, I've noticed that very few are made in the USA. The ones that stand out are my OBAMA 08 t-shirt, which was less than $25 dollars, but made and printed right here in the good ol' USA. Even my pit-stained P.E. t-shirt from highschool was made in The City of Industry, California according to the label. So is Glenn Beck hurting so bad that he couldn't see to it that his University that deals with American History and the Constitution of the United States of America had their t-shirts manufactured, and printed right here by hard working Americans?

Are these the actions of a person that claims to love his country so much that he cries at the drop of a hat over perceived losses of liberty and freedom. What these people go through in Bangladesh to manufacture cheap apparel for wealthy American capitalist like Glenn Beck is not a perception, it's reality. Maybe Beck needs to go and find the sweatshop in Bangladesh where his t-shirts are manufactured so that he can see what life without liberty and freedom really looks like.

There are dozens of documentaries about the woking conditions in Bangladesh garment factories. Workers starting as young as 10-years old, 18 hour work days, very dangerous environments and for just a few pennies. This human slavery is not a secret to most Americans and particularly those in the "news" business.

Sure Glenn Beck can say that he outsources his online apparel business to an "American" corporation, but you know what? - When that apparel has your God Damn name emblazoned across the front while you're selling yourself to be some sort of heavy duty, industrial strength, labrotory grade class of American Patriot, you need to spend a little less time crying over silly bullshit on tee-vee and focus more on reconciling your walk to make sure that it jives with your talk. I'm just saying....

GOP Candidate Sharron Angle Runs From Reporters At Her Own Press Conference

Posted: | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , , 0 COMMENTS

The GOP's Tea Party endorsed Senate candidate Sharron Angle held her first 3-minute press conference, but then literally ran away from reporters after being invited to stay for follow-up questions. Angle stood there grinning ear-to-ear as one of the final speakers said:

"Sharron Angle is indeed a hero among those of us that want a free and prosperous America."

However, the second that the same speaker took it upon himself to announce that he and Angle both had tight schedules, but would stick around for some follow-up questions from the press, Ms. Sharron literally pivoted on one heel and started walking towards an open door at the back of the building.

Angle suffers from Sarah Palin Syndrome which is brought on by being asked questions that she does not know the answer to, or does know the answer but can't say it without contradicting a pervious statement or looking like a total wing-nut. Like Sarah Palin, Angle unravels like a cheap sweater during tee-vee interviews and with each one, their total disconnect with mainstream America and perhaps even reality comes rushing to the surface.

Fox News Hannity Has Guest Do His Andrew Breitbart Damage Control

Posted: | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , , 0 COMMENTS

Sean Hannity has Ann Coulter doing his damage control by allowing her to suggest that Andrew Breitbart was "set-up" by being sent the "already edited" video.

"The whole key to this story is that Andrew Breitbart was set up. He was sent a tape which we now know was massively out of context...Of course the White House reacted that way - of course you reacted the way you did - anyone would have....The person who sent the tape has to know what the full speech said, and whoever sent only that segment to Andrew Breitbart is the one who should apologize to Shirley Sherrod."

Hold the phone you silly little freak! - Andrew Brietbart doesn't owe anyone an apology because he was just doing what right-wing propagandists do. That's like expecting a wife-beater to apologize to his wife after smacking her around.

Sean Hannity just sat there nodding his head in agreement to Ann Coulters bullshit never touching on the fact that Fox News has an obligation to research a story before airing it. Well.....they do if they still care to be considered a ligitimate source for news and information.
Andrew Breitbart was not "sent the tapes" the way that Ann Coulter was suggesting. She made it seem like the video was handed off by two people with identical brief cases in a crowded train station. Or by some sinister "deepthroat" source in an underground parking garage.

Breitbart himself told Sean Hannity on Tuesday night that, he requested the tape - which he supposedly first learned of way back in April - He told Hannity that he was sent "two excerpts" which seems to imply that he either pieced portions of both excerpts together himself, or that he only offered up one excerpt and never bothered to look at the second. Either way, the guy is an even worse liar then his star pupil Jimmy O'Keefe.

But to be fair to Andy, at least he's smart enough to pull off his scams at home with a keyboard and a mouse instead of dressing up like a pimp or a telephone repairman anf taking his little show on the road.

Gingrich/Palin In 2012 or Palin/Gingrich? You Decide

Palin gives $87K to Candidates - Spends $210K on Consulting Fees

Posted: Monday, July 12, 2010 | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , 0 COMMENTS

Sarah Palin's political action committee has contributed $87K dollars in campaign contributions to candidates Palin has endorsed from April 1 and June 30 according to a documents filed on Sunday with the Federal Elections Commission.

Among those candidates are former Iowa Governor Terry Barnstad and Joe Miller who will be challenging Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski in August. Each received $5,000. Another $2,500 each went to former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina from California, and Nevada's controversial Sharron Angle who is challenging Senate majority Leader Harry Reid.

Palin entered the reporting period with more than $916,000 on hand. She received more than $865,800 in contributions, and ended the period with more than $1 million on hand, according to the filings. SarahPAC's treasurer Tim Crawford said,

"We're going to really help a lot of Republican candidates get a chance to win and "I'm glad we have the resources there for the governor to use."

And use them she did. According to a SarahPAC financial disclosure, while Plain distributed 87K to political candidates, she spent $210,000 on consulting.

Sarah Palin's Mama Grizzly Ad Is Proof That She Is In For 2012, Sort Of?

Posted: | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , 2 COMMENTS

Sarah Palin's "Mama Grizzlies" online video ad was undoubtedly a smoke signal for campaign season, but not as a candidate for any particular public office. With all of the attributes of a political campaign video, Palin's "Mama Grizzlies" clip is cleaver video resume for a political consultant looking for work.

If that is indeed it's underlying intent, it was a good idea. Sarah Palin my not be qualified in her lifetime to become the president of the united states, but she is most certainly qualified for the arena of political consulting. Let's face it, the women can attract crowds by the thousands regardless of her qualifications or lack thereof for high office.

However, having the ability to prompt that many people to show up at one place at the same time on behalf of an even moderately qualified candidate is a valuable asset. For as critical as I have been of Sarah Palin's lack of qualifications for high office, she is well qualified if the task is to draw crowds on behalf of someone that may be even moderately qualified.

DPA Reports Widespread Racial Disparities in Ca. Marijuana Inforcement.

Posted: Saturday, July 10, 2010 | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: 3 COMMENTS

The Drug Policy Alliance (DPA) is the nations leading orginization promoting policy alternatives to the drug war that are grounded in science, compassion, health and human rights.

In a recent report focused on marijuana posession arrest, the statistics are alarming and point to widespread race-based disparities in posession arrest through out 25 of Californias largest counties.

The report found that marijuana posession arrest rates for African Americans, particularly young men between 18 - 25, are 332% higher then arrest rate for whites. In other words, African Americans in Los Angeles County constitute less than 10 % of the population, but constitute over 30% od marijuana posession arrest.

In Los Angeles County where I live, the general population stands at nearly 10 million, which is about 25% of the states total population. However, while African Americans represent less than about 9% of the population, they constitute over 30% of the marijuana posession arrest L.A. County alone.

I have always been critical of the cost to tax payers for waging this so-called "war on drugs" and particularly how marijuana became the primary focus of law enforcement with columbian cocaine flooding across the border from Mexico. Is this the best approach? - With columbian cocaine being bought and sold by the kilo, cops are chasing down minority youth with dime bags of weed stuffed in their socks.

I would encourage folks to click this link to the DPA's  REPORT to see the shear numbers of these low level arrest. Then get out your calculators and try to figure the cost to taxpayers for the arrest, prosecution, and incarceration of this many people on the average of 30 to 90 days. It has nothing to do with marijuana and everything to do with racial inequality. PERIOD!

Rachel Maddow: Rare 21st Century TV News Star, Un-Self -Absorbed Celebrity

Posted: | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: 4 COMMENTS

Rachel Maddow's rise to national celebrity has been delightful to watch. Though there are always skeptics in every bunch, the general concensus has always been that Dr. Maddow was going to be very good for MSNBC. While Fox News was getting rid of Alan Colmes to keep facts from getting in the way of their 2008 election coverage, MSNBC was getting more then even they could've imagined in Maddow.

In an atrical at with Market Watch, Jon Freidman said that Rachel Maddow was MSNBC's voice of reason. Friedman wrote about their morning breakfast meeting before the interview and how Rachel seemed a bit pizzled over why Market Watch wanted to interview her.

I think Friedman was right on target when he said that Maddow is a rare 21st-century TV news star and an un-self-absorbed celebrity. It's a good article that really sums up MSNBC's new voice of reason. I would further that by saying that Maddow is a good voice of reason for the country. In the video clip below, you can tell that she is highly educated by how easy she makes that one hour seem. As she said to Jon Friedman in the Market Watch piece, she presents "essays, which have a thesis, facts, analysis and conclusions. That way, I think, I don't invite pounding on the table or yelling at people."

It's no wonder that Maddows arrival in cable news was followed by Glenn Beck transforming his prime time hour on Fox News  into a convaluted diversion via of chalkboards, dizzying flow charts, spontanious sobbing, and revisionist history lessons that haven't a God Damn thing to do with current events.

That being said, I'd cry too if I had lost all of my marbles and turned my daily prime time news show into something that now looks like a hybrid of Maury Povich and  Jerry Springer.

"If I do NOT get my check next week I WILL HAVE NO FOOD AND WILL BE ON THE STREET," Shore sent from his Yahoo account. "IF THIS POLITICAL GRANDSTANDING DOES NOT END TODAY - WE WILL COME TO YOUR OFFICES AND MAKE OUR POINT."

Is Medical Marijuana Gaining Society's Approval?

From The Denver Post:

The newest research leaves little doubt that marijuana — or at least its chemical components — has promise in alleviating symptoms of some ailments, while also making clear that the drug is not without its drawbacks, some potentially serious.

What is less certain is whether Colorado's medical-marijuana system of dispensaries and caregivers — where commitment to scientific rigor and compassionate patient care is largely voluntary — can maximize that treatment potential for the benefit of patients.

Some dispensaries keep detailed patient records and embrace scientific testing in the hopes of providing patients with what works best. But medical-marijuana users report other dispensaries seem interested in just slinging snazzy weed, regardless of a patient's needs or ailments. (One ad on Craigslist: "Licensed caregiver looking to trade for Widespread Panic tickets.")

RNC Chair Michael Steel Takes The G Out of GOP

Can even rational conservatives be proud to be a republican these days? - Just when you thought that the party couldn't be more divided and out of touch, it's getting worse with every bone headed comment that RNC Chairman Micheal Steel utters.
From day one, Steel had taken the republican party from bad to worse to what now looks more like Lord of The Flies meets Children of the God Damn Corn! - Top ranking republicans are not in opposition of Steel's resignation, inspite of the fact that they know that he won't resign.

The party is not only fractured, but also paralyzed by inaction to do anything that isn't in thier best interest right now if they can put it off until November. Jesus Christ! - When it's gotten to the point where you've got Liz frickin' Cheney on a media blitz calling for the resignation of any republican and particularly the parties chairman, you know it's gotta be bad.

Glenn Beck's History Lessons Lose Viewer Interest

VIDEO: Having just a few sponsors and not much else left to lose, Glenn Beck has gone all in. He has transformed his hourly Fox News political commontary show into a daily history lesson complete with chalk boards and homework assignments to boot.

His new genre is based on recklessly misinforming and inciting false outrage among America’s most gullible and politically unsophistocated. And he’s doing a good job at it, or at least he was. But like most self proclaimed prophits and prognosticators, Beck is starting to become tangled up in his own woven web of bullshit.

While the GOP may make some modest gains in the midterm elections, let me state right here and now that once again the movers and shakers in what's left of the republican party will be looking the wrong way when the Obama fundrasing machine is switched to full power. The birth certificate nonsense, Bill Ayers, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Tony Rezco, and all of the red meat from 2008 will be useless. By 2012, the gulf coast will be so fucked up that voters will be carrying toarches to thier polling place to seek revenge on any politician that has ever uttered the words drill-baby-drill or said anything that even remotely sounds in favor of big oil and particularly BP.

But here lies the fundimental flaw of the radical right. They would be much better served to understand history and embrace it as it was written in lieu of trying to rewrite it to hide things that they know to be true, but are unwilling or unable to accept. Thomas Jefferson not only owned slaves, he fucked them and even fathered a child with at least one that is known. I'm sorry if that historical fact upsets you, but all of the revisionism and lipstick in the world won't make that pig get pretty. Thomas Jeffersons quote about the tree of liberty needing to be watered with the blood of patriots any tyrants has long since been known to be the adopted mantra or domestic terrorist like Timothy McVeigh. He was wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with that same quote as he lit the fuse that brought about the Oklahoma City Bombing. Yet once Beck adopted the same mantra, his followers begin to show up at Tea Party events wearing the same t-shirt that McVeigh was still wearing when he was arrested.

Nobody has done a better job of highlighting the silliness of Glenn Beck than Stephen Colbert. The video above is one of my all time favorites.
