Audi Commercial Trashes Christmas & Jesus

Posted: Wednesday, November 25, 2009 | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , , , 0 COMMENTS

I sent the following e-mail off to Audi a week after seeing this commercial. I'm not sure what they were thinking, but I'm sure that many were offended .

I still have not recieved a response. I'm sure one will be along sooner or later. Maybe I should have attached the video too.

Audi of America, Inc.
2200 Ferdinand Porche Drive
Herndon, VA. 20171
USA

1-800-822-2834 (AUDI)

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to you in regards to the most offensive television commercial that I have ever seen. Many companies spend more advertising dollars during Christmas to produce television ads specifically for the holiday season. I am not one of those who is opposed to the commercialization of the Christmas and New Year holiday season because after all, we are a capitalist society.

I get it, I understand that. Some commercials are funny, charming, serious, and thought provoking, yet all are designed to promote the product or service of the advertiser. Coca-Cola, Campbell's Soup, McDonalds, and Hallmark Cards are just a few examples of corporate advertisers that do a good job of producing funny, charming, serious, and though provoking holiday commercials that celebrate Christmas first while similtaniously promoting thier products as an afterthought.

So, your commercial plays upon the timeless compitition between neighbors to have a better Christmas light display and that's funny and charming! - You where off to a good start up to that point. However, where your commercial took a shocking, sudden, and hateful turn when one neighbor decided not to put up a single Christmas light. In lieu of taking part in the celebration of the birth of baby Jesus by displaying Christmas lights, you suggest buying an Audi and simply turning on the headlights in your driveway.

At the conclusion of the commercial, a robotic monotone voice asserts that the best lights in the neighborhood are not those that families spend hours together decorationg their homes, but rather the headlights of an Audi vehicle.

Really? - If you really love Jesus, you won't waste time decorating your house with your family. You can just go and buy an Audi and park it in your driveway with the headlights turned on. Afterall, according to your commercial, this is what it will take to "Have the best lights in the neighborhood."

I hope you will understand where your commercial went terribly wrong. I'm not sure what the intent of your commercial was, but it was not funny or charming. If anything, it was thought provoking and not in a good way.

GOOD JOB! - If your advertising agency has any other bright ideas, it might behoove you to review them for hidden messages before they hit the airwaves.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Years

P.S. What Would Jesus Drive?

Fox News Chris Wallace Spins CBO Report Like A Top

Posted: Monday, November 23, 2009 | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , , , 0 COMMENTS

This morning on Fox News Sunday, host Chris Wallace selectively quoted the Congressional Budget Office analysis of the merged Senate legislation to suggest that the Senate health legislation would increase government outlays on health care over 20 years and bend the cost-cure upward:

WALLACE: According to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, federal outlays for health care would increase during the 2010-2019 period and the government-run health insurance plan would typically have premiums that were somewhat higher than the average premiums for the private plan.

So here’s the question. The Democratic plan by the CBO’s own scoring fails to bend the famous health care cost curve at all over the course of these 10 years, and could you name a single Congress that has ever cut Medicare by half a trillion dollars as this legislation would?

.

Page 16 of the CBO report does predict that “federal outlays for health care would increase during the 2010-2019 period,” but the last paragraph of that same page adds that “during the decade following the 10-year budget window, the increases and decreases in the federal budgetary commitment to health care stemming for this legislation would roughly balance out, so that there would be no significant change in the commitment.”

As Sen. Arlen Specter (D-PA) pointed out, the $848 billion bill would actually “save $130 billion in the first 10 years” and $650 billion in the next decade. Over on the Wonk Room, Igor Volsky debunks Wallace’s other claims about the bill failing to “bend the famous health care cost curve” and whether previous sessions of Congress ever cut Medicare.

"The American People" A Rant By Chico Brisbane

"The American People"

I have forever been weary of people that preface a sentance with "the bible says" and I am now adding the preface "the American people want" or "the Amercian People believe" to that list or worrisome prefaces.

Tonight after listening to Sen. Blanche Lincoln give a well structured speech on the floor of the Senate about not caring about re-election or the legacy of a president, but rather her constituants. Arkansans who are without healthcare and those that do have healthcare, but are either in or on the verge of bankruptcy due to health care claims denied by their provider.

Sen. Lincoln's speech was followed by Sen. Mitch McConnell who decided to speak on behalf of "ALL AMERICANS" and like Sarah Palin, proceeded to mis-speak, mis-represent, distort facts and flat out lie.

The Republican Party, for the most part, has been a miserable failure during the Bush Years. It's like a brutal crime scene with DNA splattered all over the place.

They have expended so much time and effort systematically cleansing the military of gays that they never considered the potential threat of the alarming growth rate of muslims across all branches of the Armed Forces of The United States of America. Well...not until Ft. Hood turned into a midway shooting gallery.

I find that to be a stunning oversight for a party that was actively waging war on muslim extremist around the world. HELLOOOOOOOO! - You have to swear to God and your country to be a God Damn Cub Scout in the country, yet an edited oath to include the word "GOD" to also mean Allah for muslims was A-Okay to join the Army and be issues a uniform and a mother fucking rifle! - Are you shittin' me with this! -

UGH! - That's all I have to say about that! I'm very very disappointed in the Republican Party. You know what! - I can only think of a handful of people who were outspoken against these wars before they even got started and thank God that the loudest among them is now The President.

Oprah Leaving Network TV For Cable

Posted: Thursday, November 19, 2009 | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , , 0 COMMENTS

Oprah Winfrey is taking her act to cable.
The talk show diva who has ruled daytime TV for almost a quarter of a century is pulling the plug when her current deal expires in the fall of 2011. She will likely resurface on OWN, the cable network she is starting with Discovery Communications.

The move was not entirely unexpected. Once Winfrey agreed to partner with Discovery on the Oprah Winfrey Network, there was a general assumption that she would ultimately focus all her creative efforts there. OWN, which was originally supposed to launch this year, is now looking to debut in January 2011.

Winfrey will have an on-air presence on OWN as well as behind the scenes. While OWN is keeping mum, Winfrey is expected to have a daily show, although the approach will probably be different than her current studio audience-and-guest format. OWN declined to comment.

Winfrey made her national debut in 1986 when Phil Donahue was still ruling talk. It didn't take her long to drive him off the airwaves. Over the course of her show's run it has veered from classy and educational to tabloid and sleazy. She spawned a host of imitators and clones ranging from Jerry Springer to Ellen DeGeneres.

Daytime television was a sleepy business that Winfrey revolutionized. Her syndicated show generated hundreds of millions of dollars a year in revenue.

Rupert Murdoch Lies About Obama Racist Comment

Posted: | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , , , 1 COMMENTS

Earlier this month, News Corp. president Rupert Murdoch said that President Obama made "a very racist comment" when Obama
inserted himself into the July spat between Prof. Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and Officer Jim Crowley. Murdoch also said Fox News host Glenn Beck "was right" to say Obama is a "racist" with a "deep-seated hatred for white people." Today on Capitol Hill, Media Matters’ staffers asked Murdoch to be more specific about what "racist" comments Obama allegedly made, but Murdoch denied he had made the charge:

MMFA: Mr. Murdoch, can you be more specific about what racist comments the President allegedly made?

MURDOCH: I denied that absolutely. I don’t believe he’s a racist.
"But you said that he made racist statements," the staffer noted as Murdoch walked away.

Lou Dobbs Get's Glenn Beck's Timeslot?

Posted: Thursday, November 12, 2009 | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , , , 0 COMMENTS

Back in July, ChicoBrisbane.Com raised the question if Lou Dobbs sudden departure from reality was in any way a subliminal
screen test for The Fox News Channel.

I think that the departure of Lou Dobbs from CNN is not as much of a loss as it will be made out to be. Chico Brisbane has held a boycott of CNN since the election of Barack Obama and it is really the respectible journalist like Cooper Anderson that I enjoy, but haven't seen for more then a year because CNN refused to fire Lou Dobbs.

I think where Lou Dobbs went wrong was when he jumped aboard the crazy birther train with the likes of Alan Keys and the third whackiest bitch in the world Orily Taitz. Do either of these people have anything of value to say? NO! - but that didn't stop Lou from inviting them onto his show and then not blasting them into smitherines. Here what Lou had to say about the subject of Barack Obamas citizenship.

"I believe Barack Obama is a citizen of the United States, folks, don't you? But I do have a couple of little questions, like you. Why not just provide a copy of the birth certificate? That's entirely within the president's power to do so. Then all of this nonsense goes away," Dobbs said on his radio show after Obama's birth certificate had been posted online for months. After the Dept of Vital Statistics had announced that Hawaii has digitized all birth certificates and that the originals had been destroyed.

Now Lou Dobbs is gone from CNN and not of his own chosing by the way. He had been warned to tone it down after executives saw the American responce to Glenn Beck's hatfulness and how sponsors will not hesitate to cut ties with little or no warning. Lou didn't listen and this was the result. Period!

PS: My prediction is that Lou Dobbs will replace an already burned out Glenn Beck on Fox News in Beck's timeslot.
I'm just saying.

Fox News Helps Rep. Bachmann With Old File Footage

Posted: Wednesday, November 11, 2009 | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , , , , 0 COMMENTS

Sean Hannity helps Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) turn her TupperWear Party sized rally into a Tea Party Sized rally by using old file footage of Glenn Becks 9/12 Tea Party Protest. They claim the crowd size to be as high as 45,000, which is probably what the crowd size really was back on 9/12. Not the 1.7 million then Beck claimed. Fox News and its's on-air personalities have a Sarah Palin type disconnect with the truth.

Fox News' Lt. Col Ralph Peters Is Dangerous

Posted: Monday, November 9, 2009 | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , , , , 1 COMMENTS

Lt. Col Ralph Peters is The Fox News Channels idea of a military analyst, yet every appearance is completely void of any analyitcal substance regarding the issue at hand.

What Peters offers in lieu of analysis, is a breathtaking soliloquy of incindiary rhetoric without fail. The video that I have edited below is based on his “analysis” of the tragic sghooting at Ft. Hood by Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan during his appearance in a segment with Bill O’Reilly.

Instead of asking a question, O’Reilly offered up his “what say you” introduction. Peters wasted no time in referring to the event as the worst terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11pausing just long enough to criticize Military Brass and President Obama for not running immediately to the highest mountain top to proclaim the event at a “Terrorist attack at the hands of a muslim extremest”

“We just need to get a grip on this and put it in perspective. Very straight forward. What happened yesterday at Ft Hood. was the worst terrorist attack on American Soil since 9/11. It was commited by a muslim fanatic who shouted Allah is great and gunned down 44 unarmed innocent soldiers and civilians. And our President tells us not to rush to judgement. To wait until all of the facts are in. What facts are we waiting for? This was an islamist terrorist attackand I’m sorry if it’s inconvenient for Washington to face the facts, but there is no question about it. It was a terrorist attack, it was committed by an islamist. we knew he was an islamist, military did nothing about it out of political correctness. So, Bill what am I missing?”

Well….becides having a few screws loose and/or missing, Lt. Col. Peters want’s “President Obama to take a stand and stop all of this – Oh! there is no islamist terrorism” which President Obama never said. Furthermore, Peters said earlier that President Obama doesn’t want us to rush to judgement.

What President Obama said was that he was in direct contact with The Joint Cheif, Secretary Gates, DHS and that he is being updated and that we shouldn’t “jump to conclusions” not over terrorism, or Islamic extreamist, but rather what motivated an American Army Maj. to commit this particular act, on this particular day and time after nearly a decade of military service. Unless Lt. Col. Peters is privy to some information that proves that Hasan joined the ROTC while a college student at Virginia Tech and then the Army specifically to carry out this act some 9 years down the rode, he should respectfully shut the fuck up.

Particularly with all four cable news channels reporting that Hasan was dead as will as the female officer that fired upon Hasan and brought the gunfire to an end. Neither turned out to be true.

Peters and O’Reilly used the remainder of the segment at how the other media outlets have stayed clear of calling this a terrorist attack and how Fox News is the only place where viewers will hear this kind of analysis. Let’s not forget that this is the same Lt. Col. Ralph Peters that added his two cents regarding Pvt. Bo Bergdahl, 23 who was captured by the Taliban.

I find it Ironic that the first words out of Lt. Col. Peters mouth when apparing on Fox News with Julie Bandaras.

“Well…first of all Julie I want to stress we must wait until all of the fact are in before we make a final judgement.”

This is the exact course of action that President Obama is taking, but the difference in the mind of an absolute fucking whack job like Lt. Col Peters is that Pvt. Bergdahl is a 23 year old white boy from Ohio, while President Obama and Maj. Hasan are not. Therefore utalizing the same sound judgement of waiting for all of the facts to come in is suddenly not the right course of action when it’s coming from a half-breed President regarding a Sandnigger Army Major. Now am I trying to hint around that Lt. Col. Peters distain for President Obama and Maj. Hasan is based on thier race. Absolutely not! – In no way, shape, form, or fashion am I hinting around about any such thing. I’m saying it flat out! – Not only is Lt. Col. Peters nuttier than a Chinese Chicken Salad, he’s a fucking racist! – PERIOD!

Now I’m just going to leave it at that before I endup saying something rude or offensive. If Fox News had a half a brain, they’d fire Col. Peters and find someone else. ANYONE! – Col. Sanders, Captain Kangaroo, Mr. Fucking McGoo, anyone else would be a vast improvement over this malignant son of a bitch.

Rep. Virginia Foxx: Health Care Bill Worse Than Ft. Hood Shooter

Posted: Sunday, November 8, 2009 | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , , , , 0 COMMENTS

For anyone in the military command to be surprised by the actions of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan is an insult. We now know that Hasan shouted "Allahu Akbar" before he allegedly opened fire in the shooting spree at Fort Hood Thursday. Make no mistake, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan is a terrorist.

His name appears on numerous radical jihadist websites, he's been counciled by the military for encounters with fellow soldiers regarding the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now after Maj. Hisan has shot and killed 13 American soldiers and wounded 31, we are learning that Hisan has been under investigation by civilian law enforcement and that this fact is news to the military.

Looking at the bigger picture, there are going to many Republicans, or at least there should be many Republicans with some God Damn explaining to do over how they will continue to argue the "percieved negative impact" of gays serving openly in the military while I can think of not one who has addressed the now factual negative impact of muslim extremist serving openly in the military.

It would not surprise me in the least to see Don't Ask, Don't Tell legislation coming form the right over this issue while making gays serving in this military still the greater of two evils. I'm willing to bet that Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC) will be taking the lead on this issue. Last week this crazy bitch said that "this democratic health care plan is more of a danger to America that any terrorist in any country" REALLY?

By all means, please explain....

Former Blue Cross Pitchman Comes Clean

Posted: | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , , 0 COMMENTS

Via Raw Story. Actor/comedian Andy Cobb once did ads for Blue Cross in Florida. And now CIGNA's Wendell Potter has someone to talk to:

Teaming with the liberal Brave New Films, a former Blue Cross pitchman is now pitching against Blue Cross.

Andy Cobb, who once tried to sell Floridians on a Blue Cross health insurance plan, says he's fed up with the industry.

"I was a spokesman for BlueCross and Blueshield of Florida," Cobb says. "Call me a spokesjerk. People who make money for buying things you don't need. And we're telling you lies."

"They, by which I mean I, make money by standing in the way of reform," Cobb says in the ad, which appears as a spoof of something like a freecreditreport.com ad. "It's time for change."

"That's why I'm calling on leaders from the spokesjerk industry," Cobb continues. "The freecreditreport.com guy. The Shamwow dude. And Senator Bill Nelson, recipient of big money from insurance companies -- to lead us. To walk away from their cash cows and tell American people the truth.

"And us spokesjerks, we'll be fine," Cobb adds. "There's plenty of room in entertainment for people who tried to sell you the worst product in American history. Private health insurance."

Matthew Hoh: THERE IS NO WINNING IN AFGHANISTAN

Posted: Monday, November 2, 2009 | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , , 0 COMMENTS

Fareed Zakaria talks to former Foreign Service officer Matthew Hoh who recently resigned as a Political Officer in Afghanistan. You can watch the entire interview here.

ZAKARIA: Matthew Hoh is the young Foreign Service officer who resigned this week from his post in Afghanistan. He joins me now.

Matthew, I'm going to just start by reading a bit from your resignation letter. You say, "I fail to see the worth or value in continued U.S. casualties or expenditures of resources in support of the Afghan government in what is truly a 35-year-old civil war."

And then you go on to say, "Thousands of our men and women have returned home with physical and mental wounds. The dead return only in bodily form to be received by families who must be reassured that their dead have been sacrificed for a purpose worthy of such futures lost, love vanished and promised dreams unkept. I have lost confidence such assurances can any more be made. As such, I submit my resignation."

These are very strong words.

Glenn Beck's Red Phone To The White House

Posted: Sunday, November 1, 2009 | Posted by Chico Brisbane | Labels: , , , 0 COMMENTS

I'm finding it hard to watch Glenn Beck these days. Now Glenn Beck is fully aware that his RED PHONE to the White House is just a stunt and that of course the White House isn't going to call him.

Everyday he whines about the White House not calling and then spins the lack of a phone call as an assumption that they must be afraid to call. That's when it occur ed to me that there must really be a percentage of Beck viewers out there that truly believe that the red phone is real.

Every night Glenn lifts up the receiver and says "I sure wish the White House would call, but I doubt that they will." - It's a tiresome dialog that Beck uses to say one thing, but to do it in a way that leaves him wiggle room to distance himself form his own words should he need to at a later date. Hannity does the same thing and it's noticeable when they start to replace answers with questions and say one thing that is immediately cancelled out by the next and here are a few examples.

"Mr. President, just tell us the truth, that's all we're asking for, we're not sure that we'll believe you, but..."

"Is it just me, or do most Americans believe that..."

Tonight Beck played another game of connect the dots which always seems to make perfect sense to him. I think if you look back at every administration they all didn't just meet on day one. These people have connections that go back years and even decades. Glenn is taking a stroll down memory lane.

He asserts that "The Government" will control speech, innovation right down to the Chia Pet and they'll tell you how to make them and what they should look like. You have to notice the irony of Glenn Beck saying these things while claiming that the First Amendment is under attack. He is forever going on and on about the original founders and how Thomas Jefferson would be proud of the Tea Parties.

Thomas Jefferson wouldn't have very much time to be proud of anything once he found out that a Black man was President of The United States. He'd have a heart, he'd have a survivable heart attack but die because what does Thomas Jefferson know about 911 and Life Alert? - What does he know of a world where travel that once took days, now takes minutes.

What do any of the founders know about an America that has progressed far beyond the capabilities of their simple minds. Because Beck is trying to propagandize an under-educated and unsophisticated segment of his viewing audience, he's going to resort to a little revisionist history for folks that don't know shit from shinola.

This is where Beck does a real injustice to the framers of our constitution. Taking these men, who were undoubtedly very smart men in their time and trying to insert their memory and their ideologies into a 21st century America would do what? - These men would be lost! - They could speak about very little and they'd understand even less.

I understand that Beck has some serious emotional baggage and it's no secret that there is some mental health issues coming from the maternal side of his DNA. I get it! - I get the uncontrollable crying! - I get the rationalizations that it has to do with love for his country when it doesn't! - I get it! - I've been down that road before. "Taking a trip, not taking a trip! - One day at a time, easy does it!" I get it.

I completely understand Becks fascination with wanting to go back to those simpler times when everything was easy. When moms where home-makers and they all wore dressed and aprons and there there at home to greet the kids everyday after school. Those days when girls went straight from their fathers house to their husbands house.

But just because Glenn is all fucked up in the head doesn't mean that I or anyone else should just sit by and let him get the fucktards of America all pumped up by telling them that the Obama Administration and progressives are actively working in concert to "collapse" the American economy. - He just tosses words like Marxist, Socialists, Radical, Communist for nothing more the sensationalism.

Where are these meetings taking place? - If the government is going to do what Glenn Beck says that they are already doing, remember? - He said that he wished that it wasn't true. and that he's laid awake in bed all not trying to convince himself that it isn't true, but that it is. Well....I want some names. Tell us who has openly called for the collapse of the the US economy? - Just tell us the truth Glenn! - We probably won't believe you but..."
